In recent years has become more Involved in road cycling, enjoying hammering the pedals round with the local fast men known as chain gangs. This to most is seen as hard if not harder than the racing at times with average speeds of anything between 23-26 mph.

Johnny's natural progression after getting the bug for road racing was to start competing in a few races. His first road race placing was 6th, His second race he was in good company with top amateurs and winner Professional Harry Tanfield, finishing a respectable 8th
His latest result was a victory in Middlesbrough and is wanting to keep progressing race by race.
